В ночь с 27 на 28 января в Китае наступил 4715 год по лунному календарю.

Пророчества гонконгской гадалки и несколько примеров японских новогодних открыток, посвященных году Петуха, из собрания Музея изобразительных (или изящных) искусств Бостона: 1909, 1921, 1933, 1957. 1945 год из коллекции открыток выпал. Старый традиционный японский календарь был основан на китайском лунном календаре.
